The New Year and Robots...

So I have not posted ANYTHING in FOREVER so I apologise to anyone who still reads this blog. I am hoping to post more this year. Today I wanted to make a post about the DARPA robotics competition. In this competition companies create and program robots that have to climb, walk, cut through walls, locate leaky valves, clear debris, open doors, and drive through different courses. A Japanese company won the competition with their S-One robot. Google bought this company, and another robotics company called Boston Dynamics.

Ada Lovelace's 179th birthday today

Hello every body sorry if you have been waiting for a post for awhile I've been pretty busy with stuff but today Google gave me an idea for a post! So you may be wondering who Ada Lovelace is... Well so was I. That's why I researched it and found out that she was very amazing! She was pretty much the worlds first computer programer she made the first algorithim that was designed to be solved by a machine or computer. Not only is that cool, being the first computer programer but what makes her even more amazing is that she lived in a time period where computers weren't even invented! I think she deserves to be on the famous inventors page. Post in the comments if you do too and also post somthing that you learned about Ada Lovelace.

Cool stuff about engineering

today I learned that the word engineer come from the Latin ingeniator meaning ingenious one I thought that was pretty cool. Engineering really started a very long time ago when us humans decided to make things easier so we tinkered and came up with awesome tools now engineers do the same thing they build somthing to solve a problem. I want you to post in the comments a problem you think an engineer can solve.

Inventions.

Hello again everybody!  Today I want to talk about Inventions. Not all engineers are inventors but all inventors are people with a very good idea and they have the guts to actually follow through and make their idea. That's when the engineering part comes in! Anybody can become an inventor even you.  I think it would be cool to invent something new that everybody used. In the comment sections below I want you guys to say what your favorite invention is and who invented it. If you don't know who invented it then look it up and learn something new!
